SECTION 1

INTRODUCTION

 

Your APICS Baltimore Chapter Board of Directors is proud to announce its first Student Paper Competition. APICS Baltimore Chapter is a community resource dedicated to supporting Supply Chain professions throughout their careers.

 

What is the prize?

First Prize: The winner will receive airfare and registration to ASCM 2020 National Conference, to be held in New Orleans, LA.

 

Second Prize: The winner will receive registration to ASCM 2020 National Conference, to be held in New Orleans, LA.

 

What is ASCM 2020?

ASCM 2020 Is the flagship conference from the global leader in supply chain transformation, innovation and leadership.

 

Supply chain professionals from around the world will come together in New Orleans for this exciting, inaugural event from ASCM – the Association for Supply Chain Management. Built on the foundation of APICS certification and training, ASCM is the new, broader-reaching supply chain organization.

 

ASCM 2020 will be held from September 13, 2020 - September 15, 2020 and provides opportunities for networking with students and industry professions from all fields around the globe. You can look forward to memorable educational sessions, round table events and keynote events from speakers such as past presenters from SAP, Netflix, Whole Foods, CNN and more.

 

 

SECTION 2

ELIGIBILITY AND COMPETITION TIMELINE

 

ELIGIBILITY

You must be an active APICS student member in the state of Maryland, pursuing a degree in a STEM or a Supply Chain related field. Applicants who are not currently APICS members must become APICS Baltimore Chapter members. Please note that student membership is free!

SECTION 3

COMPETITON GUIDELINES

 

DESCRIPTION/PURPOSE

APICS Baltimore Chapter is a community resource dedicated to supporting Supply Chain professions throughout their careers. For its success, it relies heavily on the input from the local and national Supply Chain community.

 

To further commit to and empower those who are pursuing their Supply Chain educational goals, APICS Baltimore Chapter has developed a scholarship to place students at all career levels in an environment where they can learn and network with professionals around the globe, through the ASCM National Conference.

 

ESSAY CONTENT

Essay must meet a minimum of 500 words explaining why you would best benefit from attending ASCM2020. Applicants are encouraged to research the ASCM conference content online.

 

PAPER REVIEW

All submissions will be assigned an entry number and all personal information will be removed from the review process. Submissions will be reviewed by the APICS Baltimore Chapter Board of Directors. Only papers that meet all criteria will be considered. Student Finalists will be selected, and winners identified by vote.

 

PRIZES

HOW TO SUBMIT

All entries must be emailed by EOD on the competition deadline to [email protected]. To be considered, applicants will be rated based on the following criteria:

Note: Please do not include any personally identifying information in the essay like you name, school, etc. in the body of your essay

 

RELEASE

By submitting your entry, you grant permission to APICS Baltimore Chapter to publish your name, school and submission (in part or entirety) to its membership base.
